How to Write a Book Inscription
I was recently contacted by a fellow author asking me about how to inscribe a book. She was having a hard time deciding on what to say in a book inscription. And, as she acknowledged, she was overthinking it.
Overthinking things can be pretty common in this business, right? So let’s try to break it down.
Book Inscription Examples
A book inscription is a handwritten note to the reader that you write on the interior or title page of your book. When it comes to what to write in a book inscription, I like to keep it simple! Just a short and sweet message to my readers.
Here are examples of book inscriptions from my own books:
For The Great Latke Cook Off: “Enjoy the story!”
For Places We Have Never Been: “Let’s go on an adventure!”
For Let’s Meet on the Moon: “Hooray for friendship!”
